Digital radiography by using an intraoral sensor connected to a computer allows us to view the radiograph (x-ray image) more quickly compared with conventional films. Radiographs may then be reviewed on a screen and areas of interest enhanced and zoomed as needed for better viewing. Furthermore, digital radiography exposes the patient to significantly less radiation compared to conventional films.
Radiographs of the tooth receiving treatment may be taken during the endodontic consultation, treatment, and after the completion of the treatment. Then radiographs of the treated tooth may be sent to your dentist and insurance.
